as i sat in quizno's the other day, i pondered.

"why does this fucking sandwich cost seven dollars?", i asked myself.

and then it came to me.

i have a songwriter friend who's been writing for a few years and's got 20 or so songs and has finally got the nerve to go try them out on an audience.

anyways, he went to this open mike contest where you had to play your original songs at this mexican restaurant and he took three friends along.

he said he only got two votes.

if it was easy, everybody'd do it.
