the united states just took the worst ass whipping in ryder cup history on day 1. i am so disappointed in them. i wish they would let me give a pep talk to them tonight.

i think it would go something like this.......

"You guys just got your ass whooped...........by a bunch of goddamn nerds. NERDS!"

anyway,

a band is slowly forming around me and we should be gigging altogether here in a month or so.

we are debating names right now. i would like for you guys to make some suggestions on the comments page. just think how great you'll feel if we choose your suggestion. you could be responsible for naming the greatest band in americana, alt-country, red dirt, texas swingin' folkabilly history.

so far we consist of andy pate on bass, john zaskoda on lead guitar, and brandon wallace on drums.

as of now, i'm leaning towards "The Cool Dudes".

a close second is "The MasterBlasters".

well, i've gotta start getting ready.

john, andy, and i are playing at the green lantern in fort worth tonight at 11. it's on seventh street if anyone wants to know.

tomorrow i'll be in stephenville at the city limits with john. we're opening for back porch mary. real cool band and even cooler guys. should be a good time. listen for me on the radio sometime between 4-7 on shayne hollinger's show. i forget the name of the station.
