happy sabbath day....

and welcome to another installation of the church of scott's thoughts. i've been debating whether i should write a preview to the oscar's for mcclure's site or a review. the review would probably be easier. oh well, fuck it. i'll figure it out later. i've still got about 4 hours.

i've been reading some of paul camaro's posts on the egroup and it is really starting to annoy me. paul camaro used to be in the scott copeland band. he played bass. the bass playing bible thumper. my band dissolved in a matter of months because a member was going into the ministry. of course, that never happened. we had numerous discussions concerning politics and religion, and every single time i stood alone. paul camaro would get enraged to the point of a fistfight at my views. very christian-like. anyway, he is now spreading the message to the hethens.....a.k.a. scott copelandmusic egroup members......and it has grown tiresome.

to say that jesus christ wasn't married because it never said so in the gospels is sort of like saying lee harvey oswald acted alone because it said so in the warren commission. the bible is a great work of fiction. i believe in the teachings of jesus christ and that is the extent of my belief. to believe that jesus was born unto a virgin, rose from the dead, never sinned, and never was with a woman is not only unnecessary, but foolish and unreasonable. i'm a stickler for logic that way.

here is what we do know about jesus......

he was unemployed.
he like to get wine drunk and stay at other people's houses.
he was against an overbearing government and organized religion.

he sounds pretty cool to me......

i will be seeing the passion of the christ soon and i'll probably let you in on my insight afterwards. i've heard it's all in Latin and uses subtitles, so i'm extremely surprised that paul camaro even went to it. the bible is the only book he's ever read, and i seriously doubt he read all of that. also, he's an ultra right wing conservative even though he admits that jesus would probably have been a democrat. his arguments have many ins and outs and what have you's and it was hard for me to keep up sometimes. so i urge all of you in the church of scott's thoughts congregation to take him with a grain of salt. we do not discriminate against the narrow-minded.

well, it's a beautiful day today and i'm feeling pretty good. played golf with my brother yesterday and regained my championship belt with a 78. it was windy and cold and i hung on for a one shot victory. all is well in the universe.

i'll holler at ya later...i've gotta think of something for this oscar's preview or review shit.

my work is never done.

amen,

scott
