alright then....

welcome to the church of scott's thoughts again, on another glorious god-given morning. i'm glad you could all make it.

i don't know what the sermon will be over just yet, but i'm sure i'll think of something. i have my two kids over here right now, and i just got done teaching my daughter how to tune her guitar. she said the strings make her fingers hurt.

eventually she's going to grow up and be in a band like the dixie chicks and i'm going to be lloyd maines. cause you gotta have dreams.

my daughter, madison, is amazing. she's like talking to an adult in a 7 year old girl's body. she already uses to pretty impressive vocabulary. my favorite word i've heard her use regularly is "repulsive", except she pronounces it "re -pul- sid". it's incredible how many things we find "repulsid" together. they're practically everywhere we look.
i just ask her who her favorite country music singers are and she said,

"for girls -- shania twain
and for boys -- brad paisley"

i guess those aren't that repulsive. she also loves hillary duff. she can sing almost all of "Working it Out" which is #3 on her "Metamorphisis" cd. right now, she is spinning on the hard-wood floors in her pajamas. she is watching me type and doesn't quite understand that daddy has people that read what he types. i'm trying not to curse, so she won't come over here and read it.

she just told me that soccer is her favorite sport and that i could say that if i wanted to, and also that her best friend's name is "allie" and she met her on the first day of kindergarten.

here is a list of some of her favorite random things:

colors - purple and pink

number - I like even numbers more than odd. i don't know why, but i think 4 is my favorite

food - my mom's special beef stroganoff

movie - daddy day care

t.v. show - lizzie mcguire

channel - disney.........but if you have dish, it's channel 172 , but if you just have cable it's channel 82. i don't know why, though.

toothpaste - i don't know on that, either.

letter - my favorite letter would probably be......let me think......probably a "T". i don't know why though.

place to go - my favorite place to go would probably be "the swimming pool".

president - abraham lincoln because he helped many people and freed the slaves.

soda pop - A & W Root Beer

candy - lollipops

musical instrument -- a tie between piano and guitar

animal -- i like puppies

flower -- daisy

season -- summer, no duh.

school subject -- is math and then writing. i love writing. no, probably writing then math.

actor -- jake thomas, he's on lizzie mcguire. he's the little brother, he's funny. that's why i like him.

actress -- lindsay lohan. she was on "Freaky Friday". did you see that daddy?

yes, i did. i think jamie lee curtis is hot, madison. she really looked good in "true lies" when she did that dance by the bed.
i didn't really just say that. i just thought it.

car --- i like expeditions a lot because they're big and i just like them, anyway.


that completes the favorite random things of madison list. as she ran off she said, when i grow up i wanna be a pro soccer player or a teacher. i'm gonna wait a while before i start planting the fiddle playing, dobro and mandolin picking, harmony vocals singing member of the scott copeland band in her head. i'll wait until she's about 13 or something.

well, i don't have much church business to address today. maybe next time.
