hey everybody......

it's good to be back on. i had a great time on my little 3 day trip. i want to thank travis linville for having me. it was a blast in norman. got to sit in with one helluva make shift band. travis linville and buffalo terry ware on guitars and roger ray on dobro.....awesome. a guy named mike played a cocktail drum in the corner, but i can't remember his name. he's one half of the Hosty Duo. very cool guy.

wichita was a little slow, but very fun for a tuesday. i appreciate everyone that showed up. especially charlie and momma for sitting in. momma can really play a harmonica.

the wednesday night science project with tom skinner was definitely a science project. a fucking eight piece world-class jam band. i actually played a few songs with two members of jj cale's band. i wanna thank tom for having me and i also want to thank larry and debbie spears for letting us stay at their house. i really don't deserve the hospitality i was shown. larry spears is an incredible songwriter and has a website. i'll try to get it up on my links as soon as possible as well as the science project's.

i just came back across the street from defending my madden 2004 championship. it went down to the wire, but i squeaked out a 42-35 victory. i wanna go get tiger wood's 2004. i may do that tonight now that i have a few bones.

there were so many stories told and happenings going on these last four days that i don't even know where to start, so i'm just gonna keep it to myself. whenever you get as cool as me, you'll understand.

i heard a funny musician joke, though.

"a young teenager asks his dad for a bass guitar and the father responds by saying, "i'll get you a guitar, but you are gonna have to take lessons and if you miss one, i'm going to return it."

the teenager promises he will go to every lesson, and his father buys him a bass. after his first lesson, the father asks his son what he learned at his first lesson.
the son replies, "Well, i learned that this top string is an E string".

"I'm very proud of you," says the father.

after the second week the father again asks his son what he learned at his lesson. the son says, "I learned that this second string is an A string".

"good, keep it up son", chimes the father.

after the third week the father asks his son what he learned at his bass lesson and the son tells him that he didn't go to his lesson.

angrily the father asks, "Why not?"

the son replies, "I had a gig".

alright then. that's enough for today.

keep it on the downlow,

scott
