"i just wanna say hi johnny....and i'm sorry we can't be there but....that's just the way it is. i wanna play you one of your songs about trains. i used to play this song before i ever wrote a song and i also wanna thank you for standing up for me way back when."
---bob dylan
that is bob dylan's into to "Train of Love" on the "kindred spirits" tribute album to johnny cash. it is the best tribute album i've heard. it is worth buying just to hear bob dylan say that about 1000 times.
guys......i'm really proud of those of you who have taken the time to ask the king some questions. they are all well written and well thought out questions and it gladdens my heart to know you are all on the right side.......my side. yeah motherfuckers.
king bignoggan will address two questions today. i'm feeling kinda.......... whatever.
first off for michelle, if i remember your question,......you wanted to know why you find humor in watching a gimp stoned cat hobble around in your kitchen......
well, you shouldn't be asking why you are finding humor in it. you should be thankful that you are finding humor in a gimp stoned cat and you should take pity on those poor timid souls who don't get it.
and for patrick who wanted to know my thoughts on johnny cash and his passing today.
i wish there were more johnny cash's in country music today. it is a sad day.
i think i'm gonna drink to johnny tonight and thank him for standing up for what is right, and having the balls to enforce it. he is a true one of a kind. if you wanna hear honesty in lyrics, listen to some johnny cash.
i think kris kristofferson said it best about "the man in black".
"he's a poet, he's a picker, he's a prophet and he's a pusher, he's a pilgrim and a preacher and a problem when he's stoned. he's a walking contradiction, partly truth and partly fiction, taking every wrong direction on his lonely way back home."
i grew up around football coaches and i remember hearing to "leave it all on the field" all the time in pre-game pep talks.
well, johnny cash left it all on the field today.
i'll miss him.
............
okay, enough of the king bignoggan for today. i have an announcement to make.
i won't be at the wreck room next thursday. i know that's going to dissappoint up to 20 people, but i'm going to be in okc at the new wormy dog bricktown. my buddy kevmo set a gig up for me and that's fucking cool. who needs a fucking booking agent anyway?
the following week, everything will be back in order and i will try and restore everything to a subtle chaos. so don't worry.
what else can i talk about?
fuck it man.
i'm fucking sick of this shit for today.
out,
scott
